Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown apologized Wednesday for his “Trump dance” touchdown celebration during a game the president would later watch from a Northwest Stadium luxury booth on Sunday. (Watch the videos below.)
After St. Brown hauled in a touchdown reception in the Lions’ rout of the host Washington Commanders, St. Brown broke into the president’s shuffle. Other teammates joined in.
But the Lions player perhaps realized the optics were not so great among the president’s critics.
“If I offended anyone, I do apologize,” St. Brown said on the “St. Brown” podcast, which was posted on Wednesday. “I did not mean to offend anyone. It was just ― we’re having fun. You know, if any president was at that game, I would, if they had a dance, I would have done it ― had nothing to do with who the president was.”
