Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowls as head coach of the New England Patriots, got upstaged by Texas Christian University and a dog broadcaster in his coaching debut with the University of North Carolina on Monday. (Watch the video below.)
As the clock ticked down on the TCU Horned Frogs’ 48-14 victory over the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit placed his headset on his dog, Peter, and gave him a star turn.
“You call the rest of the last two minutes. It’s all you, kid,” Herbstreit told his pooch, a successor of sorts to Herbstreit’s beloved canine companion Ben, who died last year.
Viewers were treated to some panting commentary and a whole lot of cuteness.
“This broadcast has gone to the dogs,” Awful Announcing wrote in the clip it shared of the moment.
