The Olympic rings that have been attached to Paris’ iconic Eiffel Tower for the 2024 summer games — which officially begin on Friday — have provided the perfect frame for the moon this week.

The moon was captured creeping through the rings in dozens of images shared online. The Olympics shared footage of the spectacular celestial sight on its official account on X, the platform formerly named Twitter.

“The moon decided to play ball!” the organization wrote. Text at the start of the video read, “The perfect Eiffel Tower photos don’t exi…”
